The origin of Western Day is the commemoration of the Opening of New Horizons Village on October 23rd, 1986.  Our
30th Anniversary was celebrated in 2016.  During the event, Longevity Certificates are given to tenants living at The Village longer than 5 years; in fact we have 14 tenants who have lived with us since the beginning!

During the Day we have a tenants v. staff wheelchair horse race, with the winner becoming Sheriff for the Day.  We also have lots of western and celebrity photo opportunities.  Always a super fun Day!
